About the Pieces:
The PNKYRNG Collection has its origins in the Flat Plate & Flat Coin series, both of which reference the design of the classic signet ring.
This series also depicts from the classic signet ring, however transforms it into an elegant feminine piece – chamfered edge and a slim diamond-encrusted floating gold disc – are its points of distinction. It also compliments the Flat Plate series when paired with it forming a cocktail pinky ring.
Drawing on the concept of layering surfaces to create an object, this series comprises an array of ultra-slender rings that can be stacked together, creating a 10-piece Pinky Ring or a statement-making 12-piece Big Ring.
Kamal introduces an array of luxe new materials including pearl, enamel and textured gold, using them to build on the debut collections strengths through the evolution of several exciting new series. Proportion, detail and material continue to define the brand philosophy.
Tube Series
Inspired by the tubing often seen on architectural builds: this series is marked out by its minimalist lines. Purposely slender, the 1mm thick gold band is deployed with comfort and aesthetics in mind.
Pearl Series
Inspired by the work of the 17th century architectural visionary, Etienne-Louis-Boullée, the aptly named Pearl Series comprise 2 models: Pearl Pinky Ring and Pearl Big Ring.
Loupe Series
Frustrated by her failing eyesight, Kamal turned misfortune to her advantage with this series. Reviving the notion of the precious object that is both functional and sartorial, the Loupe enables its visually challenged wearer to sneak a refined peak when necessary.
Money Clip
Whether for her or him, the money clips are borne of similar considerations: the desire to be neat, organised and chic.
Cross Series
This series originated as a private commission from a client who asked Kamal to design a cross pendant using his father’s gold cufflinks. Rather than melt them down, Kamal used the cufflinks as the centrepiece of her new design. Of the resulting set, a ring and one pendant showcased the actual cufflink, whilst the third was a more abstracted interpretation of the client’s brief.
