Launched this week in our new online boutique, this incredible range has been designed for The New English by Maxim, the energetic powerhouse and lead singer with English Electronics band “The Prodigy”.  As you might expect coming from an artist with hit song titles such as  “Firestarter” and “Voodoo People”, this contemporary ceramics range is no ordinary tableware range…

The range entitled “Lepidoptera”,  is based on imagery from a collection of wonderful paintings by Maxim that are already gaining widespread international recognition in themselves.

The range features a series of unusual creatures based on the butterfly species, each with their own characteristics, but all sharing the species’ unique combination of delicacy and strength.

Made from the finest English Bone China , in Stoke-on-Trent, this exquisite collection is created using skills and techniques which have been handed down through generations over the last 250 years. Each piece is decorated with complex layers of screen printed and hand applied lithographs that are enhanced with hand burnished 22kt gold accents.

Equally at home on a table, a wall, or display cabinet, each of these fabulous pieces is as much a work of art as a functional object.
