No need to batten down the hatches in The Boutique this summer, we’re all shipshape and Bristol fashion and delighted to showcase the new and fabulously nautical collection from exciting contemporary jewellery design talent Jane Gowans. Aptly named the Captain Collection, these evocative pieces draw their inspiration from an old photograph Jane stumbled upon of her Grandfather in his navel uniform.

Delving into maritime history and culture, Jane has united her craft with that of her Grandfather, translating the practical tools of the sea into decorative jewellery designs. Ropes, knots and compass points have been transformed into burnished rings, studs, necklaces and bracelets.

We particularly love the edgy and bold Fathom Ring (pictured above), the statement Bow Earrings and the must-have Hitch Pendant.

This nautical-chic collection has been carefully considered to create a wearable and striking range. Rooted in Jane’s fascination for sequences and repetition, small sophisticated pieces can be stacked and worn in multiples to build bold statement looks, or left solo for everyday elegance.
