BEAVALDES Design is a Manila-based embroidery atelier specializing in highly skilled needle-work and craftsmanship with over 7 years experience in creating luxury accessories.
Founded by designer and entrepreneur Bea Panlilio-Valdes, BEAVALDES has manufactured for and collaborated over the years, with many well-known brands including Shanghai Tang, J.Mendel, Thakoon, Rene Caovilla and Swarovski.
Born and raised in Manila in the Philippines, Bea has a family history in the fine jewellery trade that spans three generations. Bea’s fascination with embroidery and embellishments is in her DNA. Her vision was to create pieces that would ultimately be regarded as ‘Art to Wear’ and not simply merchandise. To champion and develop local artisans and build a showcase of talent and a design-hub for the high-end accessories trade in the Philippines.
Today, she is recognised and much celebrated as a forward thinking accessories designer and creative architect, who continues to draw inspiration from a variety of different cultures, sourcing materials, patterns and ideas from around the world.
Her exquisite collection of crystal and semi-precious stone encrusted handbags and distinctive embroidered neckpieces have graced the covers of glossy magazines from Vogue, Marie Claire and How to Spend It, to the New York Times and Time Magazine…
Voted ‘Accessory Designer of the Year‘ by the Philippine Tatler Magazine in 2014 and recipient of the Outstanding Young Men Award (TOYM)( which is awarded to young men & women whose selfless dedication to their respective field significantly contributes to their country and countrymen), BEAVALDES was heralded by CNN Philippines as one of the country’s most inspiring and influential women.
While Bea has received global recognition and respect for her distinctive hand embroideries, she has preferred to remain in the Philippines rather than New York, where she can focus on inspiring and supporting local artisans and craftsmen, working together and perfecting her craft.
